Project Brief

Mainzeal was awarded the 1,600 sqm Nelson Court House extension and refurbishment in April 2009. The project contains a two story extension to the North and the addition of a second floor onto a portion of the existing building.

Three additional Court Rooms and a significant extension of the existing staff areas are being built in three Stages. Stage 1 includes the construction to the North and the roof extension. In Stage 2 a large portion of the building will be stripped out and fully refurbished.

Minor refurbishment works to some existing areas will complete the third stage by late August 2010.

Because all construction works are to be carried out while the Court House remains fully operational, Mainzeal is challenged to keep noise and dust levels to a minimum. In addition, all services are to be kept fully operational. The close and open relationship with the Ministry of Justice, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors is one of the key factors for the success of this project.

Currently Stage 2 works are well under way with the majority being completed by the end of June 2010.
