Project Brief
The design of the new state-of-the-art Technology Block maximises a tight steep site on the Napier hill. The three-level building has a structural steel and timber-framed construction, with concrete floors. The innovative use of horizontal Colorcote iron and flat sheet panelling, coupled with a bold use of colour, enhances the building’s visual appeal.

A car park, art facilities, computer and darkrooms are all accommodated on the middle level. Food technology, health studies and humanities classrooms are accommodated on the upper level. The floors are visually linked by a large atrium, and wide, north-facing walkways provide easy access to the main school, ancillary classrooms and the gymnasium.
