In 2003, further redevelopment at the Richmond Mall in Nelson was undertaken. This included the construction of a new structural steel and concrete building to connect the existing Village Mall with the previously upgraded Richmond Mall, along with a major refurbishment of the Village Mall. At completion, retail space was provided for an additional 28 tenancies including a number of national operators like ‘The Body Shop’ and ‘Jay Jays.

The works also included the construction of some valuable additional car parking, new Mall entry features to each of the three existing entries along with the provision of new site signage including Pylon signs.
Commenced in July 2003, Stage 3 was completed by mid March with the remaining Stage opened on Labour weekend 2004.
Mainzeal's ongoing relationship with both the client and consultant team on this project was an integral part of the successful completion of this very high profile redevelopment project.
This final completion brings the clients 10-year plan into a reality.
