Duffy & Finns is a Liquor Store associated with Foodstuffs’ Pak n’ Save venture. Duffy & Finns in Hastings is the 2nd store to be opened but is the first purpose built to Foodstuffs’ specification. This building is situated on the same land and in close proximity to Foodstuffs own Fuel Station and Pak n’ Save Supermarket.

Constructed of precast concrete walls to the perimeter and structural steel columns and portals, the entire structure is supported on some 234 nr 250+mm diameter, 7.0m piles – all that was missing was the greenery. The main floor is a high density concrete slab that had a diamond buff carried out to the trading area after the floor membrane was applied, giving a marbled, 3-D effect.
Bright contrasting colours, using different textures of Titanboard and LT-7 metal cladding, tied in with the glass / wine bottle pattern on the precast concrete exterior panels, gives the building a striking modern look. Overall, this Development has brought together a superb blend of construction, design and quality.
