This contemporary town hall in Counties Manukau is a multi-use centre designed to host a diverse range of sporting, cultural and arts events, including exhibitions, concerts, theatre, dance, church groups and prize-givings.
Consisting of the 2500-seat Sir Woolf Fisher Arena and the separate 850-seat Genesis Theatre, the centre offers maximum flexibility. The theatre incorporates removable rostra seating, while the arena features lifting seats.
The interior surfaces are simple and robust, with timber lattice and plywood ceilings, polished concrete floors and white blockwork walls that act as a canvas for artworks.

The iconic Pacific Island-themed structure features a huge 140-tonne structural steel spine truss from which roof elements drape down to the lower eaves trusses.
The project has won Property Council of New Zealand awards and was the Power Crane Assocation of NZ Inc’s Project of the Year in 2005.
