The critical influence on the project, the Langham Hotel’s occupancy rate, meant a continually evolving project and project programme, whilst working to a fixed completion date.

The inherent nature and volume of work placed an important emphasis on resource management at a local level and materials procurement from overseas. The project also involved the management of client subcontractors not under the main contractor’s direct control.

The scope of work incorporated a complete refurbishment of standard rooms, corridors, lifts, lift lobbies and suites all having new floor coverings, wall coverings, light fittings, timber panelling to doors and corridor walls, wardrobe upgrade, artwork, drapes and new furniture.

The project was fast paced with the requirement for an efficient turnover of rooms in line with the Langham Hotel’s peak season of trade. The successful completion of this project was a result of an experienced project team and communication between all parties involved.
