The supreme commercial award at the Wellington Registered Master Builders Awards was won by Mainzeal Property and Construction for the Vogel Centre Stage 1a project owned by AMP Capital Investors (New Zealand) Ltd.  The award was presented in recognition of excellence in workmanship, construction practices and innovation.

The Awards were announced at a black tie dinner held in the Wellington Town Hall and attended by Porirua Mayor, Jenny Brash, and Wellington Mayor, Kerry Prendergast.   The RMB Commercial Awards are about recognising and celebrating the project teams who deliver outstanding commercial projects.  They recognise excellence in three key elements of the project – Design, Contract Management, and Construction.

The Vogel Centre project contracted to Mainzeal encompassed the construction of a new seven-level podium building which was joined via an atrium space to the existing Vogel Building. Following stages include refurbishment, extension and re-cladding of the existing Vogel Building.

Mainzeal also received awards for the Victoria University Coastal Ecology Laboratory and Wellington City Council’s Te Kopahou Reserve Interpretation Centre.

Mainzeal General Manager Central Region, Dave O’Donovan, comments: “Mainzeal has been working with each of these clients for many years on a number of projects so we are particularly pleased to see the hard work of the teams recognised by the awards.”
