Health and Safety

Mainzeal is committed to a lead role in the management of health and safety in the construction industry.  The company routinely exceeds industry benchmarks for health and safety performance, a commitment which is reflected in a steady reduction in our lost time and medical treatment injuries across all who work on our projects.

Our commitment to health and safety management is recognised by the following:

  • The Mainzeal safety management system is certified to AS/NZS 4801 by JAS-ANZ accredited auditors.

  • Mainzeal maintains tertiary level in the ACC Partnership Programme, which is a direct reflection of our AS/NZS 4801 accredited safety management system and the Company’s commitment to maintaining a strong health and safety management system.  The company manages all employee injuries independently, seeking the best treatment available through our fast-track to recovery programme.

  • Mainzeal is a founding member of Site Safe New Zealand Inc, an industry organisation established by major construction companies to address safety concerns in the industry. We are active in the industry development groups and our National Quality & Safety Manager has been a director on the Board of Site Safe for the past six years.

  • Mainzeal maintains Tier 2 Charter Status in the Site Safe Charter accreditation programme.

  • Mainzeal was been instrumental in the development of the industry-wide Safety Liaison Groups and is a strong advocate of the industry working together to resolve safety issues.
