Peter Gomm - Chief Executive Officer/Director

Peter joined Mainzeal in 2007. He brings many years of significant experience at the general management level in the construction industry, coupled with the bottom line responsibility of the delivery of many major construction projects in New Zealand, Australia, Asia and the UK.

Peter is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building, was a Foundation Member of the New Zealand Institute of Building, and has an MBA from the University of Western Australia.

Reegan Pearce - Chief Financial Officer

Since joining the Richina Group in 1996, Reegan has held several financial management roles. He commenced his current role as CFO for the Mainzeal Property and Construction group in early 2006. Prior to this he held the role of Group Financial Controller for Richina Pacific Limited.

Reegan was during that time heading the restructuring programme of Richina Pacific's accounting, tax, treasury and reporting processes. He has also led the changeover to reporting under International Financial Reporting Standards as well as carrying out successful due diligence and transaction work on various investment proposals, in both the US and China.

Before joining Richina, Reegan was the Group Accountant for the more than 130 General Accident insurance company offices in the Asia Pacific region, having earlier held a number of both treasury and corporate accounting roles in the Pacific regional headquarters of the General Accident.

Ross Copland - Sustainability Manager

Ross is responsible for ensuring Mainzeal continues to be an industry leader in sustainable construction. Ross specialises in developing innovative technical solutions to the many issues presented by the challenge of sustainable construction.

His vision is for change to the wasteful industry norms of the present with the view to a better future built environment in New Zealand. Ross is a Green Star Accredited Professional with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours). Bachelor of Commerce and is a Graduate Member of IPENZ

Warren Chapman - National Business Development Manager

Warren has had significant experience in Project and Construction management and was appointed as the National Manager for Special Projects in 2002.

Having joined Mainzeal in 1978 Warren has been involved in the procurement and delivery of many large and complex projects in the Wellington, Taranaki, Auckland and Northland regions as well as pioneering the Collaborative Working approach to several major projects nationally for Mainzeal. Warren is an active member of the New Zealand Institute of Building, participating on its executive at both national and regional levels.

Paul Blackler - General Manager Southern Region

Paul joined Mainzeal in 2008, with 27 years' experience in the construction industry, including 12 in senior management roles. This combined with a trade background Paul fully understands and welcomes the complexities and challenges that construction brings.

Paul has served on the Boards of Canterbury Registered Master Builders and Site Safe NZ. He is the chairman of the Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology Trades Innovation Institute Advisory Board, Deputy Chairman of the Building Practitioners Board and is a member of the NZ Institute of Building.

Paul Stewart - General Manager Northern Region

Paul brings over 35 years of construction industry experience. He commenced his career with Mainzeal in 1988 and three years later was appointed an Area Manager. He opened a new Central Region office in Palmerston North, which grew very successfully, and further branch offices followed. Paul then managed Mainzeal’s Waikato/Bay of Plenty Area before becoming the General Manager Northern Region in July 2008 and is now based in the Auckland office.

Paul’s background includes Engineering and Construction Management.

Finlay Irwin - Manager Waikato / Bay of Plenty

Finlay was appointed Manager Waikato/Bay of Plenty in July 2008. Prior to this he was the Commercial Manager for Waikato/Bay of Plenty. Finlay has been with Mainzeal for over 21 years and is an experienced Project and Financial Manager.

Finlay is a member of NZIOB and is customer focused.

The main office of the Waikato/ Bay of Plenty branch is located in Hamilton and they have a satellite office in Tauranga.

Dave O'Donovan - General Manager Central Region

Dave was appointed General Manager Central Region in July 2008. Previous roles within Mainzeal have included Wellington Area Manager, Construction Divisional Manager, Project Manager and Site Manager. Dave joined Mainzeal in 1993 as a Project Engineer on the $120m Parliament Buildings Refurbishment project and prior to that he had worked in construction in the UK, NZ and Australia. Dave is a professional engineer and is a member of NZIOB and MIPENZ.

Darren Mason - Manager Central Region

Darren was appointed Mainzeal’s Central Area Manager in 2007, having transferred to the branch one year earlier as Commercial Manager. Prior to that he was a Project Manager and Senior Quantity Surveyor for Mainzeal Wellington. Darren worked extensively in the UK before moving to New Zealand in 1995. He is a qualified quantity surveyor and cost engineer and also has a postgraduate Certificate in Construction Law and Administration.

Loren Allpress - National Human Resources Manager

Loren joined Mainzeal in 2004 as Human Resources Manager for the Auckland Area. In 2005 she was made National Human Resources Manager for the company. Loren has a long employment history in property and construction, having worked 10 years at Gibson O’Connor and 15 years for the Fletcher Group.

Loren is responsible for managing the Human Resources team, training and development, performance management and employment relations.

Loren is a Trustee of the Keystone Property Education Trust.

Brian Olsen - National Quality & Safety Manager

Brian has over 45 years' experience in the construction industry, working on projects such as the Bluff Aluminium Smelter, the Gas to Gasoline Project at Motunui and the Hydrogen Peroxide plant at Morrinsville as well as other significant building projects in Invercargill, Wellington and Auckland. Brian joined Mainzeal in 1998 as the Auckland Quality Manager using his industry experience to further develop the company’s Quality Management Systems. In 1999 Brian was appointed to the role of National Quality and Safety Manager, a position he currently holds.

During his time with Mainzeal Brian has been instrumental in developing and driving safety programmes both within Mainzeal and throughout the construction industry in general. As a result Mainzeal has an excellent safety record and is a leader in Health and Safety in the construction industry.

In addition to his role with Mainzeal Brian is also a Director and Board Member of Site Safe NZ Limited.
