Dame Jenny Shipley - Independent Chair
Jenny Shipley, a former NZ Prime Minister, brings to the Mainzeal Board a wealth of experience, having been responsible for major changes in the State sector, driven by her passion for leadership, best management practice, entrepreneurial endeavour and the merits of competition and markets. Her experience in international trade makes a sound addition to Mainzeal’s armoury.
Today she is involved in many areas of commerce and public life. Since stepping out of politics she has spent a considerable amount of time overseas and in China in particular, speaking and forging new commercial and co-operative relationships between talented people and companies in the public and private sectors.
Jenny runs her own consultancy company, is a director of a number of companies, and speaks at different events around the world.

Clive Tilby - Independent Director
Clive has over 35 years of experience in the NZ and international construction markets involving the delivery of large and complex infrastructure works and commercial building. From 1987 to 1992 he was Wellington Regional Manager for Fletcher Development and Construction commercial building activities and then he moved to Asia with the German international construction company, Bilfinger+ Berger and was involved with procurement of elevated expressway projects in Bangkok, which included BOOT and construction funded delivery contracts to the value of up to $2 billion. From 1995 to 1999 he held the position of President Director of Bilfinger + Berger’s Indonesian operations, covering a wide range of civil and building projects. He returned to NZ in 2000 as Executive General Manager of NZ and the Pacific for Downer Engineering until 2003 when he elected to become an independent consultant.
In recent times Clive has provided high-level consultancy services to the infrastructure market in NZ for both private and public clients. He is frequently involved in initiatives to move the construction industry to higher performance levels, including the development of collaborative relationships between owners, designers and contractors. In 2006, Clive was appointed Chairman of the independent Ministerial Advisory Group on Roading Costs which reported to the Hon Annette King.
Clive is a degree-qualified civil engineer and holds disputes resolution qualifications in arbitration, mediation and adjudication.

Richard Yan - Director
Richard Yan is the founder, and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, of the Richina Group of companies. Richard was appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Richina Pacific Limited in October 1999 and prior to that he was Deputy Chairman of Richina Pacific, a position he held for four years. In early 2006 Richard assumed the position of CEO of Richina Land (NZ) Limited which includes Mainzeal Property and Construction.
Richard's association with New Zealand began in 1981, when he came from China on a Rotary Scholarship to study at Auckland Grammar School. He then attended the University of Auckland where he graduated with BA and BCom degrees. He also has an MBA degree from the Harvard Business School.
Before forming Richina, Richard worked in the investment banking industry and held a number of positions with Westpac Banking Corporation and Bankers Trust Company.

Peter GOMM - Chief Executive Officer/Director
Peter joined Mainzeal in 2007. He brings many years of significant experience at the general management level in the construction industry, coupled with the bottom line responsibility of the delivery of many major construction projects in New Zealand, Australia, Asia, and the UK.
Peter is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building, was a Foundation Member of the New Zealand Institute of Building, and has a MBA from the University of Western Australia.
